Poll Finds Big Ag Horse Slaughter Promotion Has Backfired
February 3, 2012 - Chicago (EWA) – A poll conducted in January by Lake Research Partners for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) found that 80% of Americans are strongly opposed to horse slaughter. The highly respected research group based its survey on 1,008 voters giving the results a 3% margin of error. The poll found opposition was consistent across all sectors, including horse owners.

In Memoriam: Debby Winkler (USA/GER)
Debby Winkler (née Malloy), wife of German Jumping legend Hans Günter Winkler, has passed away following a tragic riding accident. Mrs Winkler was seriously injured in a fall at the end of a training session on 18 February and was rushed to the University Clinic in Münster in critical condition. Sadly her injuries were too severe and, despite the best possible medical care, she died on 21 February. She was 51 years of age.

Cannes Confirmed for 2010 Exquis World Dressage Masters Lineup
Cannes on the French Riviera has been confirmed for the 2010 lineup of Exquis World Dressage Masters events with the Euro100,000 (US$136,000) competition scheduled for June 10-13. The WDM event that began the world's richest dressage events in Cannes two years ago will be held at the same time as the Global Champions Tour CSI5*.
